New look to an old space

Introducing the new 125 Newbury Street, keeping up with trendy times but staying true to its historic roots, new and great things are happening on Newbury Street (even in old places). 125 Newbury Street had seen better days and was ready for a makeover – what it got was an entire facelift.

dsc_0266After a year of renovations, 125 Newbury Street is ready to reopen its doors to a new retail opportunity. Originally built in 1899, this six story, handicap accessible building is centered on one of Newbury’s busiest blocks between Clarendon & Dartmouth Street. Before work began, 125 Newbury had a single mid-century glass entry for both Street level and the Upper level retail space. The street level retail now features its own sleek glass door for direct entry, and is double its size with a full height lower level. The multi-level space is connected by a new stair and atrium.

The building entrance maintains the architectural relevance on this historic block. Once inside, the new warm and welcoming lobby has a contemporary, ultramodern look with swanky new lighting and a wooden feature wall, inspired by the modernized elevator and upper level office spaces.
