Martellus Bennett is so much more than an NFL Star & New England Patriots Tight End. The talented author, artist, and entrepreneur hosted a Father’s Day weekend pop up in the Newbury Collection to celebrate the launch of his book and app HEY AJ IT’S SATURDAY. The pop up featured daily readings and signings, a photo booth, tablets for children to play the HEY AJ app, merchandise and more at 91 Newbury Street over the weekend.
With a laundry list of exceptional talents both on and off the field, and enough charisma to charm even the worst of critics, the young Martellus Bennett has won the hearts of fans across the board. This bright young star has paved the way to a long lasting and powerful career as a player, entertainer, and businessman. The inspiration for his new book points to perhaps his most important role – father. As Bennett explains:
“I wrote the Hey AJ children’s book series to always be there for my daughter even after I’m gone. As a father, I never want her to not have advice or food for thought from her father. Stories live on forever. This is a big part of my daddy legacy. The character A.J is based on my daughter Jett and the adventures my family has. I want my daughter her other kids of colors to be able to grow up with a character of color that focuses on imagination and adventures not just their skin color or hair.”
