The doors are now open at The Rug Company’s new Boston showroom on Newbury Street in the Back Bay area of Boston, famous for its charming rows of brownstone homes. The showroom is ideally located for the interior design community, a modern space dedicated to exquisite handmade rugs, inspiring design and flawless service.
The new showroom’s aesthetic was influenced by local early 20th century architecture and contemporary design, drawing inspiration from curved walls and sash windows to create an elegant and authentic space. Over-sized iron lanterns, reminiscent of fixtures seen in Beacon Hill, hang from the ceiling illuminating the showroom. Highlighting the curved back wall, a bespoke mirror has been crafted in the original Victorian style complete with antique glass beautifully reflecting the light from the front windows.
A new concept for a sliding rug display will be unveiled in the showroom, which houses multiple 9 x 6 rugs on a tracking system so customers can easily view different designs and qualities. A new sample wall cabinet has also been installed which houses hundreds of 1’x1’ samples on bespoke hangers showcasing myriad qualities and colors, as well as ideas for customizing The Rug Company’s designs. Clients will be able to explore the brand new Custom Rug Designer on the iPads in-‐store: the new digital service allows them to tailor any of The Rug Company’s designs in shape, size, color or material to suit their own particular style and requirements.
There is a residential charm to the space with a kitchen area that adds warmth and function to the showroom along with a meeting space that was developed for entertaining. It also serves as the perfect place to talk through plans with a client or spend time with skilled members of The Rug Company’s team and make the most of its custom design services.
