The success of Mario Russo comes from his background in engineering and his passion for the visual arts. Russo first trained with Vidal Sassoon in London, where he discovered how a knowledge of engineering complimented the art of hairstyling.  In the years since his formative experience in London, Mario has risen to the top becoming an international icon styling countless celebrities, including Teri Hatcher, Sarah Ferguson, and Carolyn Kennedy.

 Since opening in 1990, Salon Mario Russo quickly established itself as the go to Salon for cutting edge style making it one of the most sophisticated salons not only in Boston, but in all of New England.  Building on this reputation Salon Mario Russo recently expanded its empire to Boston’s seaport with a second location on Fan Pier, continuing the tradition of carefully crafted hair style and care for its devoted clientele.

 Mario Russo’s talents go far beyond cutting edge hairstyling with the launch of his exclusive eponymous line of hair, body, and bath products.  Russo’s Illumai line draws upon his Italian grandmother’s traditional belief in olive oil as a moisturizing cure-all for hair and skin care and combined that with the best scientific innovations to create products that are gentile and effective.
